Multi-MDL FSDS Aircraft and Add-Ons

These aircraft are build using the latest techniques and highest quality to make them as realistic as possible yet at the same time Frame-Rate friendly.

CFS2 Lockheed P-38L-5-LO (3.28MB) of MAJ GERALD R. "JERRY" JOHNSON, Deputy CO, 49th FG, Biak, October 1944. Multi-MDL FSDS aircraft by Gryphon Aviation. Air file by the 714th 1% Flight Test Center.

The P-38L was thought by many to be8 "one of the best all-around fighters" of the Second World War. Range, speed, ceiling, agility, and firepower... The was equipped with aileron boost giving it one of the best roll rates of any fighter and "Dive Brakes" ("D" key) enabling the aircraft to pull out dives after it had entered compressibility. They were also a great assist in dogfighting.

This aircraft was flown my MAJ Gerald R. "Jerry" Johnson while he was the deputy commander of the 49th FG at Biak in October 1944. The pre-war style tail stripes were common in several fighter squadrons in the South Pacific.

P-38L Texture files for Paint Shop Pro. Part 1 (5.73MB) and Part 2 (3.48MB). These files will make re-paints of our P-38L much easier. Because these files use the "Layering" technique (as described in our Tutorial) all you'll have to do is the painting, and won't have to worry about the Rivets and Lines.

Aircraft Updated to CFS2

The aircraft are still using CFS1-style single resolution visual models, but have CFS2 new panels, gauges and DP air files. We will update these aircraft to multi-MDL when visual models become available.

CFS2 Beaufighter Mk X Panel and Modifications (3.16MB). This zip contains a panel, gauges, air & DP file, and several weapons load set-ups for a Beaufighter Mk X. The visual model was done by Doc Blake of Pegasus Aviation Design and may be downloaded at Flighsim.com (Search for "beauftr.zip"). We will update this with a full aircraft if and when we obtain permission from the author or someone makes a multi-MDL version (we've got a lot on our plates and it'll be a while before we make one!). If you know of one, or are interested in making one please contact us.

CFS2 Heinkel He 219 Uhu (Owl) (2.4MB). The Heinkel He 219 Uhu (Owl) was a late war addition to the Nachtflieger and many consider it the best night fighter of the war, even though it was somewhat under-powered. The He-219 carried a crew of two, was armed with eight 20mm and 30mm cannon, and was the first operational aircraft to feature ejection seats. This model includes transparent propellers, navigation and landing lights, a lighted instrument panel and a gunsight for the Schrage Musik (upward firing cannon). This packed includes the complete aircraft for CFS2 (new panel, gunsight, air & DP file). The visual model was created by Gryphon Aviation for CFS1 using AF99. We felt that it had a level of quality that would enable it to operate in CFS 2 with a few modifications. We will build a new multi-MDL visual model for CFS2 if there is enough intrest. For a full history of the He-219 R7 that this model represents, read the information for the CFS1 version. You’ll want the excellent Jumo engine sounds by Mike Hambly (1.71 MB)

CFS2 A-1H Panel and Modifications (2.15MB). This zip contains a panel, gauges, air & DP file, and several weapons load set-ups for an A1-H Skyraider. The visual model was done by Eddie Allen and may be downloaded at the Duxford Legends Homepage (they have several versions to choose from). You will also need Martin Wright's excellent CFS-2 Extra Weapons Library available at MW Graphics. We will update this with a full aircrft if and when we obtain permission from the author, and look forward to a multi-MDL version. If you know of one, or are interested in making one please contact us.
